In Jammu and Kashmir, one CRPF Jawan was martyred and one militant was also killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Malbagh area of Srinagar, the summer capital.
A police official said on Friday that after receiving intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists, security forces launched a cordoned-off search operation in Malbagh area on Thursday night. He said, the militants started firing on the security force, the force also retaliated, which triggered the encounter. One terrorist was killed and one CRPF Jawan was also martyred.
The official said, the terrorist and his group are being identified. Officials said, initially three CRPF Jawans were injured and admitted to 92-base Army hospital. One of them succumbed during treatment. He has been identified as head Constable Kuldeep Urwan.
